What happens when you delete your account
- Your account disappears right away: your profile is hidden and you’re signed out everywhere.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a membership you pay for in the App Store or Google Play, so cancel it in your phone’s subscription settings.
- You have 30 days to change your mind: sign in to the app and choose Cancel deletion. After that it can’t be undone, and we finish deleting within the next 15 days (by day 45).
What’s deleted once the 30 days are over
- Your account, profile and sign-in details
- Your photos, including the pictures from your ID check
- Your connections, messages and meetup invitations
- Your private notes and ratings, and your account history
What we keep
- Security and staff audit records, which don’t include your messages or photos.
- A record of each payment, for 10 years from the payment, for tax and legal reasons.
- Meetup records (time, place, confirmations and check-ins), for 10 years, as the Privacy Policy describes.
- The account’s Profile ID, which is never given to anyone else.
- Records under a legal hold (for example, a law enforcement request), until the hold ends.
- Some records are kept longer where the law requires it, then deleted.
- Anything someone already saved, like your contact card, stays with them.
